Are we ready? Are Luxembourg’s position, its efforts, its commitments and its perspectives in phase with the climate emergency? This question comes up as Luxembourg prepares to participate in the United Nations climate conference in Glasgow in November. Indeed, according to the 6th report of the international group of climate experts “we need a radical transformation of processes and behaviors at all levels: individuals, communities, companies, institutions and government”. The preparation of COP26 therefore seems the right moment to question the government, industry companies, organized civil society and citizens where we are with this “radical transformation”.

Sustainable Finance refers to the process of taking due account of environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria when making investment decisions. It applies to everyone: companies, investors, or citizens. However, you might wonder what it means, why it is so relevant and what you can do.

During our intervention, we will answer all these questions in order to bring the matter closer to you and showcase how we all have a role to play towards increased sustainability.

How can social media contribute to sustainable solutions? What would social media look like if the user was in the driver’s seat? Come listen to how we make a 180 degree turn from what social media is today and see us demo the new social media platform Greenworlder.

Today connection to nature today is a scientific concept that has received a lot of research in recent years. But what does it cover? What are the ways to connect with nature in today’s society? And what are the benefits? In this talk, Hubert Mansion, one of the founders of University in Nature in Canada, will showcase the latest advances in a concept and practice that are increasingly arousing the enthusiasm of millions of people across the world.

The University in Nature is a non-profit association present in Canada and Luxembourg which has set itself the mission of positioning nature as a tool for public health.

Let’s not be afraid of climate issues. How can I communicate effectively?

The workshop will be initiated by a lecture by Selma Weber. She is an expert in climate communication and reports from science and her own practice as a podcaster.
After a round of questions and a debate, Youth4planet will present its storytelling tools for effective climate communication using the example of CreatiVelo.

This workshop is aimed at students, teachers, journalists and everyone who is looking for good arguments for their next conversation.
